12 YEARS AGO TODAY
Rachel Joy Scott, a devout Christian, was the first to be shot during the Columbine High School Massacre. Reportedly she was eating lunch on the lawn outside the school when she was approached by the killers and asked if she believed in God. Knowing full well that the end result would be death, she said yes. She Said Yes became the title of a book about Rachel. (See update below.) Refusing to deny her faith in God, Rachel was shot in the head at point blank range. As part of the investigation, video tapes were found in which Eric and Dylan mocked Rachel for her faith. As horribly sad as this is—a precious life lost and a family left with a hole that cannot be filled—I cannot help but be proud of this young lady who in an instant went home to be with the Lord Whom she would not deny. At 17 years of age, she showed more courage and conviction in that one word than most hope to do in a life time.. I honor Rachel today. And let’s face it: she won!

Weight Watchers
It is better than ever. Fruits and veggies are “free”. And I am losing weight faster on this program than the other because if I am hungry grab a piece of fruit. 2.8lbs in two weeks and I have not been hungry.

Hi, my name is Mary, and I am probably old enough to be your Mom! I am convinced of many things in life. One is that people always have the capacity to change for the better. Even though I am approaching 60, I consider myself a child inside. I am one of God's children. My body has aged and I have had a lot of experiences that I hope have made me wiser. Hang in there never give up. The best things in life cost the most. The bigger the pain the greater the gain. It is true, it is always darkest before the dawn. Only though patience and persistence will good things arrive.
Going against the culture of fast-food-living is a formidable challenge especially for a family with children. I must confess that my husband and I were struggling so hard with 4 children and not enough finances, that three of my four children were affected with obesity along with me. Two of my girls currently blog on Tumblr and all three of my children have lost weight and been a great inspiration to me.
My advice: Treat yourself gently. The ONLY pathway to success is mistakes.
